In the below animation we explain the concept of the circular economy and why it is necessary for the long-term sustainability of people and the planet.

With global material consumption set to double by 2060 our current linear economy of take, make, waste means we need the equivalent of three planets to sustain current lifestyles.

We need to close the loop from a linear economy that consumes so much raw material and produces so much waste and rewrite our relationship with the materials we use, revaluing and reusing those already in circulation.

A circular economy would mean products are designed to last longer while using fewer raw materials and be re-used, repaired, re-manufactured and recycled rather than wasted.

It also builds a more resilient economy through material security, resource efficiency, saving money and creating jobs.
