Land Climate Research Programme Workshop
The Land Climate Programme is holding an online workshop to introduce the project to stakeholders working with land use change and agriculture on Wednesday 10th September 10:00- 11:30am.
The workshop will be invite-only and if you are interested in attending, please register your details.
What is the Land Climate Programme?
The Land Climate Programme has been commissioned by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) and Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to identify viable pathways to reduce agricultural and land use emissions, whilst also contributing to the wider policy objectives relating to the overall environmental or socioeconomic sustainability of UK land use. The findings will feed into discussions around the setting of the 7th Carbon Budget for the UK.
The project is led by the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH) with significant input from Eunomia Research and Consulting Ltd, Exeter University, the Met Office and Forest Research.
What will the workshop include?
The workshop will introduce the pathways developed within the programme and share early findings on the impacts of these pathways, both in terms of the spatial mapping of change across the UK, the emissions abatement resulting from the pathways and the environmental and social-economic impacts of these pathways. This workshop offers interested stakeholders an opportunity to discuss the work ahead of a larger end of programme workshop that will take place in December 2025.
The workshop will be invite-only and if you are interested in attending, please register your details.
