In an upcoming webinar with global software and technology company SAP, we will be breaking down what the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and its 2026 obligations mean for organisations operating in the EU.
Date: 12th May
Time: 3pm (BST)
Registration: Click here
From 12 August 2026, any packaging placed on the EU market must fully comply with the PPWR requirements. That means SKU‑level packaging assessments, robust documentation, and demonstrable compliance with PFAS and Substances of Concern rules.
In a live session, our PPWR experts Alex Forrest, Chiarina Darrah, and Amie Walley will join SAP’s Global Head of Circular Economy Solutions Darren West to explain what these requirements mean in practice, outline the key data and processes needed, and provide guidance on how to prepare for compliance.
What you will learn:
- What August 2026 means for your business, including key reporting requirements and the steps you should be taking now to remain compliant
- The latest PPWR updates, including recent announcements on labelling and transport packaging
- The view from industry – SAP’s perspective on how leading businesses are reframing PPWR as a market access and financial risk problem, not just a sustainability topic
- How to prepare beyond 2026 and what companies should be doing now to de-risk packaging portfolios in response to reduction, recyclability, and recycled content requirements
Who should attend:
- Senior leaders who produce, import, distribute and use packaging in the EU, for example within FMCG businesses.
- Non-EU businesses that sell packaging or packaged products into the EU market
- Anyone interested in policy developments around packaging and sustainability in the EU – whether private, public sector, or NGO. However, the focus of the webinar will remain on how PPWR will affect businesses
- Supply chain managers
- Sustainability managers
- Packaging designers
Attend live to participate in and hear the Q&A, a recording will be shared of the presentation following the event.
Alex commented: “Many organisations are aware of the PPWR, but many have yet to fully grasp it’s meaning and implications and translate the 2026 requirements into clear internal actions. Businesses need to understand what compliance looks like at SKU level and what data they should already be preparing. These requirements will directly affect whether packaging, and as a result many products, can remain on the EU market, making early preparation essential to reduce compliance risk and avoid disruption.”
