On Friday 28 June, Eunomia Bristol and London teams took part in the Waste World Cup, a six-a-side mixed-gender football tournament.

Although there was no silverware this year, Eunomia Bristol reach the final of the Plate competition, but were narrowly defeated by Biffa Subcon and Reacton, and it was a semi-final finish for our London team.

John Richardson, Consultant and London team captain said, “Despite the semi-final game proving to be our last of the day, there was plenty to be proud of as we’d kept running and smiling to the very last whistle, backed up an absolutely heroic goalkeeping performance from Jonathan Zhang. With no regrets, we cheered Bristol’s brilliant performance in their final before ending our day swapping anecdotes and sun cream over drinks.”

Michael Kirk-Smith, Consultant from our Bristol team said, “The fact we’d got to the final as Team Bristol and played some proper football on the way was prize enough.”
