Eunomia has welcomed environmental expert and digital leader Mike Bell as its new CEO.
Mike brings over two decades of business, product, and transformation experience to the team, having previously led sales and marketing, technology, engineering, and programme delivery across the globe in multiple industry verticals from automotive to electronics, healthcare, energy, and utilities.
He was most recently Chief Strategy & Digital Officer at Ricardo plc, where he helped reposition the business from its automotive roots towards leadership in environment and energy transition, launched new digital platforms, and led acquisitions in environmental advisory and energy modelling.
Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Jaguar Land Rover, Canonical, Laird and United Utilities, with a track record of driving innovation, delivering growth, and leading large-scale transformation programmes across Europe, North America and Asia. He brings to Eunomia a strong blend of strategy, digital expertise, and sector knowledge in energy, environment and mobility. Mike has BSc (Hons) & PhD Computer Science and MSc in Energy Policy.
Commenting on his new role, Mike said: “I’m thrilled to join Eunomia’s talented team. We have globally recognised thought leaders with cross-sector, joined-up sustainability expertise. Our clients face accelerating pressures—from circular economy regulation to nature and net zero commitments. My priority is to deepen our science-led advisory, scale digital and data capabilities, and partner with clients to turn ambition into measurable outcomes for people, planet and performance.”
Mike’s leadership in driving innovation through new business models, products, services, and technologies will usher in an exciting new chapter for us. Renowned for our evidence-based research and pragmatic recommendations, much of which informed the landmark Single Use Plastics Directive (SUPD) and Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), we are now growing to support a wider range of sectors.
Adding to our long-standing relationships supporting governments, local authorities, NGOs, and household FMCG brands, we now support industries such as packaging, healthcare, water, energy, chemicals, automotive, and food producers transition towards business models that are circular by design, nature positive, and less carbon intense, with solutions that are financially viable and keep ahead of ever-changing regulations.
Mike continued: “I’m looking forward to working with the many talented consultants at Eunomia to take their commercial strategy to the next level so they can have even more impact. I’ll also be drawing from my digital transformation and commercial experience to support the teams to get the innovative products and service lines they are producing in front of the audiences who really need them.”
Our Chairperson Joe Papineschi said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Mike to the team, his values mean he is a great fit for our culture – something we’re fiercely proud of – and his breadth of expertise and leadership skills are going to support us to deliver our ambitious plans for the future. We have some exciting news to announce next year for our 25th anniversary – watch this space!”
