Natural economy consultancy
Working together to protect and regenerate the environment and manage precious natural resources in sustainable ways.
Why we need a natural economy
Our complex, beautiful natural world is essential to our wellbeing and survival. We rely on clean water, fresh air, healthy soils, and thriving biodiversity for food, drinking water, energy, and climate regulation. Our whole economy – from farming to fishing, renewable energy to tourism – depends on these assets. Our failure to invest in protecting our natural assets means we now face the twin challenge of living sustainably and restoring biodiversity in the face of climate change. There’s a real need for transformative approaches that are collaborative and innovative to secure a future for nature and society.

How we work
Our multi-disciplinary team includes people with expertise in environmental science, natural science, social science, economics, environmental modelling, communications, engagement and behaviour change many of whom have cross-disciplinary experience. We have a detailed understanding of the interconnected threads between natural (land and water), and social (people and the economy) systems. We undertake research to build evidence, knowledge and insight to develop more sustainable routes and help shape, develop, analyse and evaluate policies and strategies to futureproof natural assets. In particular we focus on integrated water management, sustainable land use, biodiversity, nature-based solutions, and climate adaptation and resilience.
Our strong network of relationships with many stakeholders operating in this environment, means we can help navigate governance and partnership working. We work collaboratively with our clients locally, nationally and internationally and are valued for being adaptive to ensure our work focusses on turning goals into outcomes.
