According to The Big Plastic Count, UK households throw away 90 billion pieces of plastic annually. However, solutions to reduce this in the grocery sector, such as reuse and refill schemes, continue to be hindered by a lack of acceptance from retailers and the public.
But there are plenty of innovative projects currently underway that are providing the steppingstones towards a more circular economy, and one of them is going to be launched at a webinar at the end of this month.
We have been working with GoUnpackaged’s Refill Coalition on a life cycle assessment (LCA) to weigh up the potential environmental impacts of two reusable packaging solutions, compared to current single-use grocery packaging systems.
Our expert Simon Hann will be delving into the trial results, LCA, and key learnings on Wednesday 30th April at 12pm (BST) at a webinar with GoUnpackaged and the Refill Coalition partners (Aldi UK, Ocado Retail Ltd, and CHEP).
