We are excited to welcome Tom Domen as a new Circular Economy Innovation Lead, part of our wider 2025 plan to focus on the top of the waste hierarchy and help clients better understand the environmental and economic benefits of good reuse systems.

With a background in product development and innovation, Tom brings over two decades of experience in shaping new concepts and business models across industries including home and personal care, textiles, and consumer electronics. He has a proven track record of building sustainable brands, having helped transform niche eco-cleaning startup Ecover into a mainstream success. His expertise also extends to strategic consultancy for industry, NGOs and non-profits.

Some of Tom’s career-defining achievements have included his pioneering work on ocean-bound plastic solutions and packaging reuse and refill. He played a key role in creating the first ‘ocean bottle’ – made with 50% plastic waste collected from Rio de Janeiro’s beaches. These initiatives helped position him as a thought leader in integrating recycled content into plastic products and inspiring new ecosystems for reuse.

Tom said: “Eunomia brings an incredible depth of scientific knowledge and modelling expertise to the circular economy transition. I’ve always been passionate about enabling system-wide change, learning from nature, and rethinking innovation at a fundamental level. Many of today’s circularity challenges require a complete redesign of how we approach them. The infrastructure we have now is built around collection and recycling, but to create real change, we need to go beyond that.”

He added: “We are living in uncertain times, with economic volatility revealing the cracks in our current systems. But with that comes an opportunity to rethink the future, using data-driven models and circular principles to drive meaningful change.”

In his new role, Tom will lead and contribute to a range of reuse and refill projects and strengthen Eunomia’s circular economy offerings – particularly for FMCG clients.

Our Chairperson, Joe Papineschi, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Tom to the team. His expertise in innovation and future-systems thinking will be invaluable as we look to support clients navigating new policies, such as the PPWR, that mandate integrating reuse into systems for the first time in some instances. As a company that prides itself on aiming for the top of the waste hierarchy, Tom’s experience and strategic vision will play a crucial role in shaping our next phase of growth.”
