A group of consultants from our implementation team visited Hounslow’s Southall Lane Depot in London, a facility designed with our support in 2016 for Hounslow’s recycling partner Recycle 360.
The lucky group, which included James, Will, Camilla, Manon, Claire, Jonathan, Divya, and Connie, got a chance to see how operations at the facility were working in 2025 and meet the team behind the operation.
Our Head of Implementation Emma Tilbrook led the mobilisation of Recycle 360 in 2016, helping to design, permit, and spec the recycling depot, as well as buy the sorting equipment.
The facility was commissioned to support the collection of source separated recyclables and food waste in Hounslow, as part of the successful transfer of domestic collection services to Recycle 360 in 2017. It now processes 22,500 tonnes of mixed dry recycling from over 110,000 homes in the Borough every year [1], with over 1300 tonnes of recyclate leaving the facility in 2023 [2].
The facility was also shortlisted in the Health & Safety Initiative Category of the MRW 2018 National Recycling Awards for its fire safety measures.
Emma said: “Given our involvement in its infancy, this project is close to our hearts at Eunomia. This trip was a great opportunity for our team to take some development time out and see a real-life working site. It’s incredible to see how Recycle 360 and the wider Lampton 360 group has grown, and it is as a real testament to how effective the Lcoal Authority Trading Company model can be to support localised service delivery.”
