Clare has a long track record in complex, multi-institutional project management. She is a PhD, a chartered psychologist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

About Clare

Clare is an exceptionally experienced, qualified consultant who leads the Eunomia team on social research and social appraisal. She has a long-standing interest in research and practice in stakeholder engagement and public dialogue in environmental decision-making.

She is a trained facilitator with extensive experience of designing and undertaking evaluations of policy and practice, including familiarity with the Magenta Book approach to evaluation. She has led evaluations for clients such as the EU, the Environment Agency, Defra, Natural England and many other public bodies and local authorities.

More recently, she has focused her attention on social vulnerability and resilience, flood risk management, the social benefits associated with the natural environment and the social impacts of major infrastructure development.

As a leading expert in her field, Clare is regularly invited to undertake peer reviews of articles for academic publications such as the Journal of Flood Risk Management and the Journal of Environmental Psychology. She also holds a wide range of advisory positions with international, scientific, governmental and environmental foundations.
